Title: Assessing the causes of tropical forest degradation using Landsat time series: A case study in the Brazilian Amazon

Authors: Julie Betbeder, CIRAD, France; Damien Arvor, CNRS, France; Lilian Blanc, Guillaume Cornu, Clément Bourgoin, Renan Le Roux, Audrey Mercier, Plinio Sist, CIRAD, France; Lucas Mazzei, Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, Brazil; Christian Brenez, Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), Costa Rica; Hélène Dessard, Isabelle Tritsch, Valéry Gond, CIRAD, France

Presenter: Audrey Mercier.

Audrey Mercier is a doctor in Geomatics, she just defended here thesis at the University of Rennes 2 (France) which aimed at evaluating Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 time series for the identification and characterization of ecological continuities. She is currently working in the Forests and Societies unit at CIRAD (France). The objective of this post-doctoral work is to develop a method for monitoring and characterizing forest degradation, mainly due to artisanal logging, using time series of optical and SAR satellite images.
